Biography

I am Pickens County native Tiffany Bors Griffis. Born and raised in Jasper, Georgia, PHS graduate, niece, daughter and granddaughter of Pickens County school system teachers, Jasper is where my heart is. After graduating with my Bachelors Degree in Telecommunications Production at the University of Georgia and accomplishing a television production career in Los Angeles, California and Atlanta, Georgia, my family and I moved back to Jasper and I started another chapter of my life and second career, teaching.  While going back to school earning my Masters of Arts in Teaching at Reinhardt University, I taught Kindergarten at FBCJ and student taught at Harmony Elementary under Teacher of the Year 2016 Ms. Jennifer Valeriana.  In a nutshell, my teaching philosophy is to make learning fun so that each student enjoys being in my classroom by utilizing differentiated, challenging, yet within reach instruction in a nurturing safe environment. This is my 6th year teaching at HES and 8th year in education.

I cannot express how excited I am to have the opportunity to teach your child this year!  As a mom of a fourth grader and step-mom to tenth and eleventh graders, I know how important teacher/parent relationships are. I look forward to getting to know you and your child and working together as a team to make this a wonderful memorable year in elementary school.
